MoU Renewal Ceremony Between Eastern University, Sri Lanka and CA Sri Lanka

The Faculty of Commerce and Management, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, proudly organized the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Renewal Ceremony with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) on August 5th, 2025. This renewed collaboration marks a significant step toward fostering financial literacy, career readiness, and professional growth among undergraduates.

The event commenced at 1:30 PM with the arrival of distinguished guests and delegates from CA Sri Lanka and Eastern University, Sri Lanka. The formal proceedings began with a welcome address by Prof. N. Rajeshwaran, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, EUSL, who highlighted the importance of academic-industry partnerships in equipping students with the skills and mindset required for the evolving corporate world.

This was followed by an inspiring address by Mr. Heshana Kuruppu, President of CA Sri Lanka, who emphasized the vital role professional institutions play in shaping ethical, competent, and future-ready professionals.

The ceremony continued with an address by Prof. P. Peratheepan, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, Sri Lanka, who commended the longstanding collaboration between the two institutions and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to enhancing the employability and professional development of its students.

At 2:15 PM, the formal renewal of the MoU took place, reinforcing the shared vision of academic excellence and industry relevance.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Treshalin Sellar, National Link Coordinator, Faculty of Commerce and Management, EUSL, who acknowledged the contributions of all stakeholders, including the CA Sri Lanka officials and university leadership, for making the event a success.

The ceremony concluded with group photographs at 2:25 PM, capturing the essence of this collaborative milestone.

Several officials from CA Sri Lanka and faculty members attended the event, reflecting the strong institutional ties and mutual commitment to knowledge-sharing and capacity-building.
