Opening Ceremony of the Department of Accounting and Finance

The Department of Accounting and Finance at the Faculty of Commerce and Management, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, was officially inaugurated on January 1, 2025. The grand event was graced by Professor V. Kanagasingam, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, Sri Lanka as the Chief Guest, Professor T. Pirabaharan, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, Sri Lanka as the Guest of Honour, and Professor T. Velnamby as a Special Guest. The event was organized under the guidance and leadership of Professor N. Rajeswaran, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management. The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed Deans of the Faculties, Heads of the Department, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers, academic and non-academic staff. Mr. T. Thayaraj was officially appointed as the Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance. This milestone marks a significant step in advancing financial and accounting education at the university!
